Thank you for your interest in Mixed Reader! Mixed Reader is open to various types of submissions, and the authors retain all rights to the pieces printed. Previously published pieces are acceptable, with information about where it first appeared. Submissions should follow the theme of this blog: mixed race and cross-cultural experiences!
- Send all Submissions to mixedreader@gmail.com
- In the title of the email please give your last name and the type of submission: (ex: “Smith Fiction” or “Smith Poetry”)
- Include a short bio (1-2 sentence) within the email.
- Please paste all text into the body of the email. Attachments will not be opened unless it is a visual submission (see below). Formatting of the piece will be confirmed before posting.
- We will respond as soon as possible, feel free to contact us if it has been more than three weeks, but not before then.
Fiction, Personal Essay, Memoir, Non-Fiction
- Submit prose up to 1000 words using the instructions above
Poetry
- Submit up to 3 poems using the instructions above
Art, Photogrpahy, Graphic Novel
- Submit piece as a JPEG attachment to email. If it is a different format, please contact through email to make sure it is compatible.
